KINGS BAY, Ga., (Nov. 4, 2022) Tony Faella (left) and Joe Dietz (right), both WWII submarine veterans, carry a wreath in memory of fallen submariners on eternal patrol during the Submarine Veterans of WWII Memorial Service at Naval Submarine Kings Bay. Faella, who turned 100 in September, served aboard the submarine USS Spearfish (SS 190), which earned 10 battle stars during the duration of the war. Dietz served aboard USS Besugo (SS 321), which was credited with sinking a German submarine off the coast of modern-day Indonesia during the war.
