Chief Warrant Officer 5 Joedy VanVelzen smiles after being drenched in water in celebration of his last flight as an Army pilot in the Iowa National Guard at the Army Aviation Support Facility in Boone, Iowa Oct. 20, 2022. VanVelzen completed his last flight after serving 40 years as a pilot in the Iowa Army National Guard. Friends, family and the Boone Fire Department came out to celebrate the milestone.
