YOKOSUKA, Japan (Nov. 15, 2022) Capt. Les Sobol, Commander, Fleet Activities Yokosuka (CFAY) and Capt. Rafael Facundo, deputy commander and chief of staff, U.S. Naval Forces Japan, examine harbor patrol unit response as part of Keen Sword Exercise 2023. Keen Sword is a joint-bilateral biennial training exercise involving U.S. Forces and the Japan Self-Defense Force designed to help promote peace and security in the Indo-Pacific region by strengthening the U.S.-Japan alliance and enhancing participants interoperability. For more than 75 years, CFAY has provided, maintained, and operated base facilities and services in support of the U.S. 7th Fleet's forward-deployed naval forces, tenant commands, and thousands of military and civilian personnel and their families.
