YOKOSUKA, Japan (Nov. 18, 2022) - Rear Adm. Carl Lahti, Commander, U.S. Naval Forces Japan (CNFJ), speaks during a ribbon cutting ceremony for a newly-upgraded Pier 5 located onboard Commander, Fleet Activities Yokosuka (CFAY). The ceremony marked the completion of a two-year project that will support both the legacy and newer classes of ships docked at CFAY. For more than 75 years, CFAY has provided, maintained, and operated base facilities and services in support of the U.S. 7th Fleet's forward-deployed naval forces, tenant commands, and thousands of military and civilian personnel and their families.
