Alaska National Guard helper elves assist Santa with passing out candy canes and capturing special moments as 65 children receive gifts and meet with Santa during Operation Santa Claus in Minto, Alaska, Nov. 22, 2022. Operation Santa Claus is the Alaska National Guard’s yearly community relations and support program that provides gifts to children in remote communities across the state. Santa and more than a dozen helper elves transferred to two Alaska Army National Guard Black Hawk helicopters to deliver 650 pounds of gifts, backpacks, hygiene supplies, and books to 65 children in Minto.
