Aircraft tail number 7999, a KC-135 Stratotanker, displays its “retirement pin” along with signatures from Team Mildenhall leadership, maintainers, aircrew and guests after its official retirement ceremony Nov. 23, 2022, at Royal Air Force Mildenhall, England. This was the first official retirement of a KC-135 here. The 59-year-old tanker, which bears the World War II legacy nose art “Wolff Pack,” has taken its last flight and is now at its final resting place in “The Bone Yard” at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Arizona. The legacy “Wolff Pack” nose art will remain at RAF Mildenhall and be transferred to another aircraft. (U.S. Air Force photo by Karen Abeyasekere)
