Donald Lovette, local historian, Fort Stewart Cemetery and Historic Communities Council co-chair, and Chairman of the Liberty County Board of Commissioners, poses for a photograph next to a headstone belonging to family member Henry Cassells, Nov. 30 in the Strum Bay cemetery on Fort Stewart. The majority of Lovette's family is buried in the Pleasant Grove cemetery which was part of the Taylors Creek community. This year's tour marked the first time Lovette has been able to visit Strum Bay to locate his additional family member, further embedding his family's roots in the land.
