Betty Kennedy and friend Nick Knopes further their genealogical research on Kennedy's family at Rimes Cemetery, Nov. 30 on Fort Stewart. Kennedy's family extends across many of the communities that once flourished on the land that now serves as the training area for the Army's 3rd Infantry Division. Rimes Cemetery is now located in the middle of the Booker Range, part of the Red Cloud Range Complex, tucked away and protected by a 15 to 20 foot berm, used for military vehicle range training. Rimes is also home to the tallest monument on Fort Stewart standing at 11.152 feet tall, belonging to Morgan T. Rimes who resided on the land from 1856-1914.
