PACIFIC OCEAN (Nov. 18, 2022) Damage Controlman 3rd Class Olivia Simon teaches a class about damage control techniques aboard amphibious transport dock USS John P. Murtha (LPD 26), Nov. 18, 2022. Damage control is used both in port and underway to ensure Sailors have proper training to combat any casualty. The Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group, comprised of amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8) and amphibious transport docks USS Anchorage (LPD 23) and John P.
