ANNAPOLIS, Md. (Jan. 17, 2023) Commandant of Midshipmen Col. James McDonough speaks to family members and guests at the funeral of Cmdr. David Wallace in the U.S. Naval Academy Chapel. Wallace, a permanent military professor in the leadership, ethics, and law department, died peacefully in his home Dec. 26, 2022 after a two-year battle with cancer. His dedication to the development of future naval leaders was evident in his mentorship of midshipmen and his work to establish the Midshipman Peer Coaching Program. He is survived by his beloved wife of 25 years, Valerie, and their three daughters, Savannah, Madeline, and Emma (U.S. Navy photo by Stacy Godfrey)
