ANNAPOLIS, Md. (Jan. 17, 2023) Sailors from Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling’s Ceremonial Guard carry the urn of Cmdr. David Wallace into the U.S. Naval Academy Chapel. The Naval Academy honored the life of Wallace with a funeral and burial service with military honors. Wallace, a permanent military professor in the leadership, ethics, and law department, died peacefully in his home Dec. 26, 2022 after a two-year battle with cancer. His dedication to the development of future naval leaders was evident in his mentorship of midshipmen and his work to establish the Midshipman Peer Coaching Program. He is survived by his beloved wife of 25 years, Valerie, and their three daughters, Savannah, Madeline, and Emma. (U.S. Navy photo by Stacy Godfrey)
