SOUTH CHINA SEA (Jan. 6, 2023) – U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Matthew Himle, a flight equipment Marine/aerial observer with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron (VMM) 362 (Rein.), 13th Expeditionary Unit, watches a CH-53E Super Stallion piloted by Marines with VMM-362 (Rein.), 13th MEU, during flight operations aboard amphibious transport dock USS John P. Murtha (LPD 26), Jan, 6. The mobility and sustainability provided by amphibious platforms enable the Navy-Marine Corps team to extend the reach of our capabilities. 7th Fleet is the U.S. Navy's largest forward-deployed numbered fleet, and routinely interacts and operates with Allies and partners in preserving a free and open Indo-Pacific region.
