SOUTH CHINA SEA (Jan. 6, 2023) – U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Matthew Himle, a flight equipment Marine/aerial observer with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron (VMM) 362 (Rein.), 13th Expeditionary Unit, watches a CH-53E Super Stallion piloted by Marines with VMM-362 (Rein.), 13th MEU, as they conduct flight operations aboard amphibious transport dock USS John P. Murtha (LPD 26), Jan, 6. The mobility and sustainability provided by amphibious platforms enable the Navy-Marine Corps team to extend the reach of our capabilities. 7th Fleet is the U.S. Navy's largest forward-deployed numbered fleet, and routinely interacts and operates with Allies and partners in preserving a free and open Indo-Pacific region.
