U.S. Marines and U.S. Navy Sailors with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit prepare to load onto a MV-22B Osprey aboard the Amphibious Assault Ship USS America (LHA-6), in the Philippine Sea, Jan. 25, 2023. The Navy and Marine Corps team staged in preparation for a mass casualty incident to maintain readiness and to improve response time. The 31st MEU is operating aboard ships of USS America Amphibious Ready Group in the 7th fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
