February is Black History Month and we asked our Soldiers "Why is diversity important in the U.S. Army?"
“Diversity in the Army is crucial because it allows us to have a larger, more well-rounded team," said Pfc. Allen Johnson, 15R AH-64 Attack Helicopter Repairer, C Company, 4th Battalion, 2nd Aviation Regiment, 2nd Combat Aviation Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division/ROK-U.S. Combined Division from Tampa, Florida. "Everyone brings their own unique strengths and weaknesses, and with diversity, we can bring all of these different qualities together. This leads to a more diverse group of individuals who can bring different skills and knowledge to the Army. Diversity helps us have a stronger, more capable army that can adapt to and respond to a wider range of challenges. Without diversity, we would not have access to different strengths and weaknesses and, therefore, not have a well-rounded team." (U.S. Army Photo by KCPL Um, San Ma Ru)
