U.S. Marine Staff Sgt. Matthew Sponagle, Explosive Ordinance Techniciasn, assigned to the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) sweeps for metal hits during an investigation of a possible crash site in Lampang province, Kingdom of Thailand, Feb. 08, 2023. This mission is DPAA’s effort to investigate the location a missing service member from a crash site during World War II in order to set the conditions for a future recovery mission.
