FORT BRAGG, N.C. (Feb. 16, 2023) – Captain Kimberly Toone, commanding officer Navy Medicine Operational Training Command (NMOTC), addresses Sailors during a visit to the Naval Special Operations Medical Institute (NSOMI) at Fort Bragg, North Carolina Feb. 16, 2023. Service members who complete the courses offered at NSOMI specialize in trauma management, infectious diseases, cardiac life support and surgical procedures, with a basic understanding of veterinary medicine and dental medicine to support US special operations. NMOTC is comprised of six nationwide detachments that offer specialized medical training in the fields of aviation, aviation survival, surface and undersea warfare, expeditionary and special operations medicine.
