Airmen assigned to the 305th Aerial Port Squadron and 87th Logistics Readiness Squadron fuels management flight prepare to load a R-11 fuel truck onto a C-17 Globemaster during exercise White Stag at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, N.J., Mar. 9. 2023. The R-11 fuel truck was used to perform a wet-wing defuel, an operation where the aircraft will land and keep all four engines running while the crew transfers fuel from the aircraft to either another aircraft or to a fuel truck. The wet-wing defuel was part of Exercise White Stag, a full-spectrum readiness exercise that demonstrated the 305th Air Mobility Wing’s overall ability to deploy and sustain rapid global mobility around the world.
