This #FortRileyFriday we look at a building on Main Post that is a one-of-a-kind structure. At the same time, it lends its history to the numerous ghost stories that emanate from #FortRiley.
Built in 1910, Quarters 150 on Huebner Road is the only one on Fort Riley which displays the craftsman architectural style. It features a wood exterior covered with stucco and exposed, sawed rafter ends.
Originally intended for non-commissioned officers and later warrant officers, more recently Quarters 150 served as the #Corvias Main Post Neighborhood Office. In early 2017 it was converted back to its original use as officer quarters.
While serving as the Corvias neighborhood office it also contained two hospitality suites for temporary housing needs. Several Corvias staff members and guests have reported encounters that have been described as #paranormal in nature. All have felt three distinctly different presences-a man, a woman and children. One staffer was working alone one day when she came across wet footprints in the kitchen, though she was alone and her shoes were completely dry.
