Vehicles towing water pumps stage Nov. 5 at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst and await the order to deploy into affected areas of New York City. The 401st Quartermaster Detachment, 316th Sustainment Command (Expeditionary) is prepared and awaiting orders to deploy within two hours to areas affected most by Hurricane Sandy. The 401st QM Det., an Army Reserve unit from Lock Haven, Pa., will pump water out of subways or tunnels as part of an interagency effort to provide relief from the storm.
