Petty Officer 3rd Class Kamarreo Jernigan, a ship serviceman with the USS Carter Hall based out of Little Creek, Norfolk, Va., controls a hose during the excavation of water that flooded the basement of an apartment complex in Far Rockaway, Queens, on Nov. 5. The USS Carter Hall is part of the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit, based out of Camp Lejeune, N.C., aiding in the relief effort of the victims of the cities that were affected by Hurricane Sandy.
