Robert Luker, a native of Pittsboro, N.C., and a water technician specialist for 8th Engineer Support Battalion, 2nd Marine Logistics Group, based out of Camp Lejeune N.C., lowers a pump off a truck to begin excavating water from the basement of an apartment complex in Far Rockaway, N.Y., on Nov. 5.
