Utilities Mate 1st Class Patrick Koelle, assigned to Navy Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 23, embarked aboard High Speed Vessel (HSV 2) Swift, levels out a section of wall, to put in beams for a new roof at Escuela Pronoie Nuevo Despertar Mis Puimeros Pasitos in Zona De Acapulco. NMCB 23 is working with engineers from the Peruvian Navy at Base Naval De Callao, as part of Southern Partnership Station (SPS 12) 2012. The Seabees and engineers will spend three weeks refurbishing schools in the area. HSV-SPS 12 is an annual deployment of U.S. Navy ships and assets to the U.S. Southern Command's area of responsibility in the Caribbean, Central and South America. The exercise involves information sharing with Navies, Coast Guards and civilian services throughout the region.
