U.S. Marine Corps Capt. Amir Golshani the mobility officer for the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) explains the embark and debarkation process aboard the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Bataan (LHD 5) during a tour of the ship, on the Atlantic Ocean, May 23, 2023. This visit served to inform leaders from N95, Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) Cost Assessment & Program Evaluation (CAPE) and Policy of the operational capabilities embarked aboard the Bataan Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) shipping and demonstrate long range capabilities in support of expeditionary advanced base operations, direct action raids, and maritime interception operations in preparation for the upcoming deployment.
