U.S. Marines with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 162 (VMM-162) Reinforced speak about the capabilities of the air combat element to leaders of the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) Cost Assessment & Program Evaluation (CAPE) and Policy, and OPNAV N95, aboard the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Bataan (LHD 5) during a tour of the ship, Atlantic Ocean, May 23, 2023. This visit served to inform leaders from N95, OSD CAPE, & Policy of the operational capabilities embarked aboard the Bataan Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) shipping and demonstrate long range capabilities in support of expeditionary advanced base operations, direct action raids, and maritime interception operations in preparation for the upcoming deployment.
