A U.S. Marine Corps MV-22 Osprey lands in a field at Unit Training and Equipment Site #1 (UTES), Pelham Range, Anniston, Alabama, May 20, 2023. The aircraft transported designated Maritime Special Purpose Force Marines assigned to 26th MEU from USS Bataan (LHD 5), that upon arrival to UTES conducted a night movement as part of 26th MEU’s Special Operations Capable Certification. Expeditionary Operations Training Group organized C2X as the culminating exercise in the 26th MEU’s pre-deployment training program, ensuring they are ready to respond as a forward-deployed, sea-based MAGTF, capable of conducting amphibious operations as a crisis-response force-in-readiness and able to conduct contingency operations across the full spectrum of military operations.
