A U.S. Marine assigned to Bravo Company, 2nd Recon Battalion, 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), traverses through a flooded creek during a rainstorm at Pelham Range, Anniston, Alabama, May 20, 2023. The Marines are designated Maritime Special Purpose Force assigned to 26th MEU from USS Bataan (LHD 5), who upon arrival conducted a night movement as part of 26th MEU’s Special Operations Capable Certification. Expeditionary Operations Training Group organized C2X as the culminating exercise in the 26th MEU’s pre-deployment training program, ensuring they are ready to respond as a forward-deployed, sea-based MAGTF, capable of conducting amphibious operations as a crisis-response force-in-readiness and able to conduct contingency operations across the full spectrum of military operations.
