Chief Machinist’s Mate Nicholas Heinrich, the Additive Manufacturing Coordinator at Southeast Regional Maintenance Center (SERMC), holds the final iteration of the Electro-Optical Stabilization Subsystem (EOSS) motor removal tool he helped invent. The new tool was successfully tested onboard USS THE SULLIVANS (DDG 68). The modular design includes a pass-through for mounting hardware, is easy to use and uses standard 1-1/2 and 6-inch bolts.
