NAVAL BASE SAN DIEGO (June 2, 2023) Rear Adm. James Kirk, commander, Expeditionary Strike Group 3, presents Capt. Brian Quin (left) with a Legion of Merit during a change of command ceremony aboard amphibious assault ship USS Boxer (LHD 4). Capt. James Harney relieved Quin as commander of Amphibious Squadron (PHIBRON) 5 during the ceremony. PHIBRON 5 prepares for and directs expeditionary warfare missions in support of national objectives by employing the combat power of amphibious ships and the Marine Corps in the maritime, littoral and inland environments.
