Gunnery Sgt. Jeffery Addison, assigned to amphibious transport dock USS Anchorage’s (LPD 23) combat cargo department, directs a joint light tactical vehicle (JLTV) assigned to Combat Logistics Battalion (CLB) 13, 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), through the well deck of Anchorage in preparation for offload, June 5, 2023. Synchronizing the complementary capabilities of the 13th MEU and Anchorage multiplies the traditional influence of sea power to produce a more competitive and lethal force. The Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group, comprised of amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8) and amphibious transport docks Anchorage and USS John P.
