Marines assigned to 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) onload into a landing craft, air cushion (LCAC) assigned to Assault Craft Unit (ACU) 5 via the well deck of amphibious transport dock USS Anchorage (LPD 23), June 5, 2023. LCACs transport ship-to-shore personnel, weapons, equipment, and cargo during Marine operations. The Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group, comprised of amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8) and amphibious transport docks Anchorage and USS John P.
