A handicrafts fair was held in Thelept that featured 70 women exhibitors showcasing traditional foods, clothing, artifacts, ornaments, and sweets, and attracted over 120
visitors. The women of Thelept lack economic opportunities. Many of them are engaged in
handicrafts, agriculture, and handmade goods production but did not have safe public gathering
spaces to highlight their products. But thanks to the USAID Ma3an renovation of the Thelept
Cultural Center, they now have a secure and inclusive
venue for cultural, artistic, and economic events.
