U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Keano Robinson, a Motor Transport Operator with Combat Logistics Battalion 8 (CLB-8), Combat Regiment 2 (CLR-2), 2nd Marine Logistics Group (2nd MLG) , and a native of Miami, Florida, poses for a portrait July 2, 2023, while underway the San Antonio-class amphibious transportation dock USS New York (LPD 21). Robinson holds the billet Motor Transport Chief, which is the role of a Staff Sgt. He was recommended by 1st Sgt. Willie Tompkins, the company 1st Sgt. for Bravo Company in CLB-8, for his ability to cross train with landing support and aviation combat elements and apply his past field operations to support UNITAS. Robinson encourages his junior Marines to “continue to be a sponge soaking up information and looking for opportunities to expand their knowledge”. UNITAS is the world’s longest-running annual multinational maritime exercise that focuses on enhancing interoperability among multiple nations and joint forces during littoral and amphibious operations in order to build on existing regional partnerships and create new enduring relationships that promote peace, stability, and prosperity in the U.S. Southern Command’s area of responsibility.
