Sgt. 1st Class Robert Mintz with the 320th Military Police Company in St. Petersburg, Fla., just before receiving the Purple Heart medal for injuries received while deployed to Tikrit, Iraq in 2008. Mintz's vehicle was hit by an improvised explosive device during convoy operations. The ceremony was conducted in Tampa, Fla., on December 1.
