Marines use a jackhammer to place an anchor for an M-31 Marine Corps Expeditionary Arresting Gear System Dec. 2 at Tinian’s West Field during Exercise Forager Fury 2012. Marines will place more than 50 anchors for each trailer to make sure it does not move while landing F/A-18 Hornet aircraft at a rate of one every 3-5 minutes. The Marines are expeditionary airfield system technicians with Marine Wing Support Squadron 171, Marine Aircraft Group 12, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, III Marine Expeditionary Force.
