U.S. Army Soldiers of the 115th Expeditionary Signal Battalion, Alabama National Guard, start the two-mile run during the Army Combat Fitness Test (ACFT) during Exercise Northern Strike 2023 on Camp Grayling, Michigan, Aug. 7, 2023. The ACFT consists of six different events designed to assess a Soldier’s overall fitness; the two-mile run specifically measures aerobic endurance to assess if Soldiers can physically work for long periods of time and recover quickly.
