Zeroing a weapon is used to achieve the desired path between the line of sight and the trajectory of the round at a known distance. The competition tests the Soldier’s proficiency in their warrior tasks and battle drills and identifies the most cohesive, highly trained, disciplined, and fit team that is ready to fight and win – while demonstrating a commitment to the Army Values (leadership, duty, respect, selfless service, honor, integrity, personnel courage) and Warrior Ethos.
