TUY HOA, Vietnam (Aug. 14, 2023) - Lu Ngoc Lam, Deputy Director of Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (DARD) and vice chief of the Pacific Partnership 2023 (PP23) organizing committee, welcomes the PP23 Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief Team (HA/DR) which is comprised of Soldiers and Airmen from the Oregon National Guard, a Civil Affairs Team from the Colorado Reserves, a member of the Coast Guard and two professors from universities in Oregon. Now in its 18th year, Pacific Partnership is the largest annual multinational humanitarian assistance and disaster relief preparedness mission conducted in the Indo-Pacific. The Phu Yen DARD team and HA/DR team shared information on how to enhance disaster preparedness and resilience by increasing the capacity of entities to prepare for, mitigate, respond to, and recover from natural or manmade disasters, including wildfires, oil spills and landslides.
