TUY HOA, Vietnam (Aug. 14, 2023) - Lt. Col. Evan Hessel, Pacific Partnership 2023 (PP23) Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HA/DR) team lead, Joint Force Headquarters, Oregon Army National Guard, speaks to members of the Phu Yen Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (DARD), Aug. 14, regarding how to prepare for, mitigate, respond to, and recover from wildfires. Now in its 18th year, Pacific Partnership is the largest annual multinational humanitarian assistance and disaster relief preparedness mission conducted in the Indo-Pacific. The PP23 HA/DR team is composed of Soldiers and Airmen from the Oregon National Guard, a Civil Affairs Team from the Colorado Reserves, a member of the Coast Guard and two professors from universities in Oregon.
