TUY HOA, Vietnam (Aug. 14, 2023) - Le Van Be, Phu Yen Director of Provincial Forest Protection Department, asks a question about a presentation given by the Pacific Partnership 2023 (PP23) Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HA/DR) Team at the Phu Yen Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (DARD), Aug. 14. DARD and HA/DR met to share information on how to enhance disaster preparedness and resilience by increasing the capacity of entities to prepare for, mitigate, respond to, and recover from natural or manmade disasters, such as wildfires. Now in its 18th year, Pacific Partnership is the largest annual multinational humanitarian assistance and disaster relief preparedness mission conducted in the Indo-Pacific. The PP23 HA/DR team is composed of Soldiers and Airmen from the Oregon National Guard, a Civil Affairs Team from the Colorado Reserves, a member of the Coast Guard and two professors from universities in Oregon.
