Soldiers with 1st Battalion (Airborne) 509th Infantry Regiment, Joint Readiness Training Center competing in the U.S. Army Forces Command Best Squad Competition conduct land navigation during a situational training exercise (STX), Aug. 15, 2023, on Fort Campbell, Kentucky. STX are used for training, evaluation and sustainment of task proficiency. The week-long competition assesses each squad on their technical and tactical proficiency, as well as their ability to work as a disciplined and cohesive team.
