J.P. Richard, a retired artilleryman who served in the 1st Infantry Division during the Vietnam War, sits in a restaurant during the Society of the 1st Inf. Div. reunion in New Orleans, Louisiana, Aug. 12, 2023.
“Every time we get Soldiers coming who are active duty to our reunions, it’s a pleasure,” said Richard. “My daddy was born and raised (in New Orleans). The whole family is all through here. I was raised on crawfish and raw oysters so coming down here was fun.”
