Spc. Bradley Fournier, from East Troy, Wisconsin, a Soldier with Operations Group, National Training Center competing in the U.S. Army Forces Command Best Squad Competition begin the mystery event, which was a Call for Fire, Aug. 17, 2023, on Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Call for Fire is when Soldiers request support through a radio from field artillery units, or a Fire Direction Center, to suppress an enemy with cannon fire by giving target location and description. The Warrior Ethos states, “I will always place the mission first, I will never accept defeat, I will never quit, and I will never leave a fallen comrade.” This Ethos, lived by every Soldier, embodies the squad mentality and spirit, bonds teams, and enhances a squad's overall success as a cohesive unit.
