U.S. Army combat engineers from B Company, 23rd Brigade Engineer Battalion, 1-2 Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 7th Infantry Division measure the circumference of a tree in order to calculate how much C4 plastic explosive is needed to fell it in a training area near Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington, August 22, 2023. Following wildfires in the area, some trees were deemed too hazardous to fell using conventional axes or chainsaws due to extensive fire damage.
