The staff ride focused on the building and maintaining of relationships between the U.S. Army and Italy by studying shared history of World War II. During WWII, the Castle of Porciano, located in Casentino, Italy, and the neighboring villages were sites of war crimes at the hands of the Nazis. The 2500th explored the site, reviewed first-hand accounts through local interviews, and discussed the importance of building shared trust in communities, teams, and units.
