Pvt. 1st Class Giovanni Horval, an information technology specialist assigned to the 2500th Digital Liaison Detachment, participates in a leadership development discussion during a unit staff ride to the Castel of Porciano in Casentino, Italy, Saturday, Sept. 9, 2023. The staff ride, led by unit commander, U.S. Army Reserve Col. Dave Kasten, focused on the building and maintaining of relationships between the U.S. Army and Italy by studying shared history of World War II. Casentino, Italy, and the neighboring villages were sites of war crimes at the hands of the Nazis. The 2500th explored the site, reviewed first-hand accounts through local interviews, and discussed the importance of building shared trust in communities, teams, and units.
The 7th Mission Support Command, comprised of 25 units across Germany, and the 2500th DLD in Vicenza, Italy, is the U.S. Army Reserve presence in Europe.
