A 35th Civil Engineer Squadron pavements and construction equipment operator uses a concrete vibrator to move compact wet cement and remove excess water while constructing a mobile aircraft arresting system and mobile runway edge sheave on taxiway bravo at Misawa Air Base, Japan, July 24, 2023. This project will allow jets to be launched and recovered on the taxiway in case of an emergency, enabling Misawa to project a constant stream of combat air power in a contingency scenario.
