Second Lt. John Oswald, platoon leader, 2nd Platoon, C Company, 4th Special Troops Battalion, 4th Armor Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division, seeks cover while taking fire during his platoon’s offensive assault on an enemy retransmission communication site Oct. 31, 2012, near a mountain range approximately 70 miles northeast of Fort Bliss. The engagement was part of the engineering company’s three-day, force-on-force training exercise dubbed “Operation: Mountain Sapper”, which provided soldiers with live-fire capabilities through Ultimate Training Munition’s non-lethal paint rounds.
