Spc. Jeffrey T. Karabin and Sgt. Kyle A. Macke, engineers assigned to C Company, 4th Special Troops Battalion, 4th Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division, coordinate tactical strategies prior to a full-scale platoon-versus-platoon ambush using Ultimate Training Munition paint rounds Oct. 31, 2012, near a New Mexico mountain range nearly 70 miles northeast of Fort Bliss. The UTM rounds allowed the company to provide realistic force-on-force combat scenarios that resembled and environment similar to that of Afghanistan.
