A U.S. Marines CH-53E Super Stallion Helicopter Crew assigned to the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit, conduct preventive maintenance checks and services in preparation for flight take off, after downloading equipment in support of Red Sands Integrated Experimentation Center 23.2, Sept. 5, 2023, on King Saud Air Base, at the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Red Sands Live Effects 23.2 is a counter-small Unmanned Aerial Systems (C-sUAS) exercise conducted by the Saudi Arabian Armed Forces and U.S. Army Central. This bilateral exercise at the Shamal-2 Range in northeastern Saudi Arabia is the second iteration of the Red Sands Integrated Experimentation Center (IEC) concept, a forum to test and field counter-UAS systems and implement best practices to optimize interoperability between partners and systems.
